When you book a holiday with us, it is possible to book with sickness cancellation insurance if you do not have one yourself. Hopefully you will not need it, but it is always nice to have security - the price is 2% of the price of the booking.
We make the sickness cancellation insurance in collaboration with Bornholms Brandforsikring. If you are prevented from travelling, however, simply contact us - and send us documentation - and we will take care of the rest of the paperwork for you. Vacation should be easy...
Here you can see the rules for the sickness cancellation insurance:
1.1 What does the insurance cover?
The insurance covers the part of the price of the trip, excluding insurance premiums, that we as a travel agency do not refund in the event of cancellation of the trip, in cases where the insured's participation in the trip is made impossible or significantly impeded;
1.1.1 as a result of the death of the insured or his/her spouse, cohabitant, children, parents, parents-in-law, children-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, grandparents, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law or travel companions, or is affected by acute illness or serious injury requiring hospitalisation, doctor-prescribed bed rest or the like, or
1.1.2 because immediately prior to departure, significant damage has occurred due to fire or burglary in the insured's private residence or fire, burglary or work stoppage in the insured's own business in violation of the collective agreement.
1.2 Special conditions
It is a condition for the insurance cover:
• That we as a travel agency receive proof of the insurance event - i.e. a medical certificate, death certificate or police report.
1.3 The insurance period
The insurance covers from the date of booking until the latest meeting time for the planned departure to Bornholm (e.g. ferry departure), which is stated on the participation certificate or similar. After this, the insurance will be terminated.
2.0 You can't get double coverage
Please note that our sickness cancellation insurance only applies/comes into force if you do not have travel insurance yourself. If you have travel insurance yourself, you cannot get both reimbursement from us and compensation from your insurance company, so if you have travel insurance yourself, you must contact your own insurance company to get compensation from them, as our free cancellation insurance does not cover in this case.
Definition of "Acute illness"
Acute, covered illness means a new illness, a reasonable suspicion of a new serious illness, or an unexpected significant deterioration in an existing or chronic illness.
Definition of "Travel Companion"
A travel companion means the persons who were scheduled to participate in the trip.
How do you cancel?
If you wish to cancel your trip, we ask you to contact us as soon as possible, preferably by phone on 56 95 85 66. The cancellation must be made no later than the meeting time for the planned departure to Bornholm (e.g. the ferry departure to Bornholm).
Then you must send us documentation material:
• In case of illness: Medical certificate
• In the event of death: Copy of the front page of the death certificate
• In the event of a burglary or fire: Copy of police report or receipt for police report
• You are responsible for sending us the correct documentation material - and the insurance does not cover any costs for preparing the documents, as you must cover these possible costs for preparing the documents yourself.

We have not yet experienced that we have had to refuse to pay compensation in accordance with a customer's wishes.
