Treasure Hunt

Bornholm

Join an exciting treasure hunt for the whole family and experience Bornholm in a completely new way! Along the way, you will face fun challenges, puzzles and stories that lead you to the island’s hidden medieval sites.

Please note: The treasure hunt is available in Danish and German only. The treasure hunt takes you into the story of Eskil’s Testament – a mysterious medieval document that has been lost and is now rediscovered in 24 parts. The pieces are spread across 12 different locations all over Bornholm, and your task is to find them and gather the clues. The adventure begins at Bornholms Middelaldercenter, where you get ready for your treasure hunt and are sent off on your journey. From here, you explore the island, solve tasks and visit selected medieval sites, round churches and historical landmarks, including Hammershus and Østerlars Round Church. The treasure hunt is designed for the whole family, with tasks for both children and adults. Along the way, you can explore Bornholm at your own pace and combine nature, history and adventure in one experience. Practical information The treasure hunt starts and ends at Bornholms Middelaldercenter, where you will be given a treasure hunt backpack with an activity book and all necessary equipment. The tasks are solved together and are suitable for both children and adults – however, we recommend that an adult helps with reading aloud. The treasure hunt can be completed over 2–3 days, and when finished, the backpack is returned to Bornholms Middelaldercenter during normal opening hours. As the experience takes place outdoors, we recommend wearing sturdy footwear.
