Bornholm Medieval Centre is an experience centre for children, parents and grandparents alike. Explore an authentic medieval village with farm animals, rural houses, a chieftain’s farm and a large watermill. Everything is brought to life through sights, sounds and activities – and you become part of the story yourself. Try archery, mint your own silver coin, paint with beer pigments like in the old days, and see (and hear!) the cannon being fired. Set your own pace: borrow a pocket guide and explore on your own, or join a free guided tour with one of the museum’s storytellers. During high season, the medieval atmosphere is turned up even more with volunteers in historical costumes, pirate school, children’s entertainment, working workshops, music and the popular live role-playing game The Battle of the Flag. There’s plenty to experience – both outdoors and indoors.
