Time of Arrival
You will be able to check in to your holiday apartment from 15:00 on the arrival day. Read more under "Keys" if you arrive late at night.
Time of Departure
On the day of departure, we ask that you leave the holiday apartment no later than 10:00.
Arrival days
In the period from 5 July to 9 August, Sunday is the arrival and departure day, and stays are booked in whole weeks. In other periods, you can usually choose your arrival day freely, and stays are booked with a minimum of 3 nights.
Accessibility
Friheden Holiday Apartments is not wheelchair accessible. Please contact us at +45 56 95 85 66 for advice and guidance if you need a holiday home where it is possible to bring a wheelchair.
Baby package:
You can rent a baby package consisting of: High chair and crib. If you wish to rent a baby package, you can add it to your reservation when booking your stay.
Cleaning
A holiday must be a holiday! That is why we make sure to clean your apartment on arrival/departure - so you are always sure that the apartment is properly cleaned on your arrival, and you are free from the work of cleaning yourself before your departure. Cleaning is always included in your rental price. You therefore do not have to pay extra for the cleaning. On your departure, we therefore simply ask you to ensure that the furniture is in its place, the kitchenware is washed up, and any waste is handed over to the area's environmental station.
Duvets and pillows
There are duvets and pillows in the apartment. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only thing you must bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package, consisting of sheets, pillow and duvet covers as well as a large and a small towel. If you wish to rent a linen package, you can add it to your reservation when booking your stay.
Electricity and water consumption
Electricity and water consumption are always included in your rental price, so we will not send you any additional invoice after your holiday.
Groceries
You can shop for groceries in DagliBrugsen in Tejn approx. 1,3 km from the apartment and in Netto and SuperBrugsen in Allinge, approx. 3 km from the apartment.
Internet
There is free wireless internet in the apartment. Transmission strength may vary. If you need to use the internet connection for work-related matters, we therefore recommend that you bring your own mobile broadband. If the network does not function optimally, this does not provide a basis for financial compensation. You will find the code for the internet in your apartment.
Keys
We’ll send you a separate email a few days before your arrival with information about how to get the key to your holiday apartment. It’s a simple process – and no problem at all if you arrive late in the evening.
Kitchen appliances
The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen - including tableware and utensils and you don't need to bring any of your own.
Parking
You can park for free by Friheden Holiday Apartments.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in Friheden Holiday Apartments. If you wish to bring your pet to Bornholm, please have a look at our pet-friendly accommodations.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in the apartments.
Tea towels, toilet paper and more

Just a few minutes’ walk from your holiday apartment lies Sandkås Beach, known as one of Bornholm’s hidden treasures. The beach is tucked behind cliffs and trees, so it’s often only known to locals. When you stand with your feet in the sand and enjoy the view of the sparkling rocks and the blue sea, you’ll understand why many call Sandkås “the real Bornholm” – a picturesque blend of sandy beach and rocky coastline.
Rift Valleys and Bornholm’s Nature
Besides the beach, the area offers beautiful natural experiences. Behind Sandkås lies the impressive fault valley Storedalen. Walking through the narrow gorge, formed thousands of years ago during the Ice Age, you’ll find high rock walls on both sides. The valley is home to its own unique flora and fauna, and in spring it’s magical when anemones, larkspurs, and other wildflowers cover the forest floor.
Coastal Path – From Tejn to Allinge
From Sandkås Beach, you can follow the popular coastal path through some of North Bornholm’s most scenic areas. Heading south, you reach the small fishing village of Tejn, with shops, cafés, and a cozy harbor atmosphere. Here, you’ll also find Smedjen – a small street food market – and the Penyllan microbrewery, which brews award-winning beers with a view of the Baltic Sea.
Heading north along the coastal path takes you to Allinge. The walk is short, but you’ll likely stop several times to enjoy the breathtaking views over the sea. The coast has always been linked to seafaring history, and off Sandkås, the ship Den Gyldne Sol sank in 1673 with a cargo of copper coins. The wreck wasn’t found until nearly 350 years later – so perhaps the coast still holds a few secrets.
