Svaneke Savværk consists of six lovely holiday apartments in two different sizes: 60 m² for 4 people and 105 m² for 7 people. As the name indicates, the apartments have been built in the former sawmill in Svaneke. The handsome exterior of the old building has been preserved, for example, the old crane still sits in front of the building, bearing witness to a time when giant circular saws would transform great logs into timber. Today, the place is peaceful and quiet. Inside, the sawmill has been completely rebuilt, and designed by one of the most talented architects on Bornholm, Sean Claxton.
Wonderful location close to Svaneke Town Square
Svaneke Savværk is beautifully situated in Svaneke, just 400 metres from Svaneke Square, with its shops, restaurants and a wonderful lively atmosphere. Take a walk through the path in the field to the old part of Svaneke. The fields begin just 150 metres from Svaneke Savværk. In front of you, you will see Svaneke’s red church showing you the way. Enjoy the smell of the flowers, and the wonderful view of the sea. From the church, you can go towards the Square, or to Svaneke Harbour, where sailboats and local fishermen contribute to a wonderful atmosphere. Svaneke is probably the most sought after holiday location on Bornholm. When you have stayed at Svaneke Savværk, you will understand why.

Cleaning
We make sure your holiday apartment is properly cleaned when you arrive. The cost of cleaning is included in the rental price, so there is no extra charge for cleaning. When you depart, we kindly ask that you ensure the inventory is in place, kitchenware is washed, and any trash is deposited at the area's recycling station.
Disability conditions
Unfortunately, Svaneke Savværk does not have specially designed apartment for the physically disabled. Please note that the apartments for 7 people are accessible by stairs. If you need a holiday apartment suitable for people with physical disabilities, please contact us at +45 56 95 85 66.
Duvets and bed linen
There are duvets and pillows in the apartments. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only thing you must bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package, consisting of sheets, pillow and duvet covers as well as a large and a small towel. If you wish to rent a linen package, you can add it to your reservation when booking your stay.
Freezing opportunities
All apartments have refrigerators with a small freezer compartment.
Hairdryer

Grill
Unfortunately there is no grill in the apartments. However, you are always welcome to bring a barbecue yourself if you want to grill. Just remember to consider the neighbors when grilling.

All holiday apartments at Svaneke Savværk have free WiFi. Slow or faulty internet connection will not be grounds for financial compensation.

Keys
We’ll send you an email a week before your arrival with information about how to get the key to your holiday apartment. It’s a simple process – and no problem if you arrive late in the evening.
Kitchen towels, toilet paper and more
Upon arrival, you'll find a kitchen towel, dishcloth and a starter supply of toilet paper in your holiday apartment. If you need more, you are responsible for bringing/buying it yourself.
Parking and charging station
There is a shared parking area at Svaneke Sawmill where you can park free of charge. Two charging stations for electric vehicles are also available in the parking area.
Pets
Pets are allowed in selected apartments. If you are bringing a dog or a cat, please add this when booking your stay. Please note that there is an additional cleaning fee when bringing a dog or a cat. Svaneke is the eastern most point on Bornholm – and probably also the most sought after holiday location on the island. Svaneke has a special charm and atmosphere, which may be the reason why the town has received the European Council’s gold medal for preservation work. Take a ride on the horse drawn carriage in Svaneke. If you think that the horses look oddly familiar, you could be right, as the horses graze on a field just 150 meters from your holiday apartment at Svaneke Savværk.
Across the field
From Svaneke Savværk there is just 400 meters to Svaneke Square, if you go straight there. BUT.. do try to take a right turn when exiting Svaneke Savværk. The path is uphill, but at the top of the hill, you will have the most wonderful view of Svaneke with the sea in the background, and in front of you, a little dirt road, which takes you to the old part of Svaneke.
Experience the atmosphere at the harbour
From the old part of Svaneke you can continue onwards to the beautiful harbour – you might be tempted to try a cold locally brewed beer from Svaneke Bryghus, along the way. Svaneke Bryghus is located by the square, where you will experience a wonderfully lively atmosphere, especially on market days, where you can get great deals in the little stalls, on everything from designer clothes to the best “æbleskiver” in Denmark. Do pay a visit to Svaneke Købmandshandel, an old grocery store, where the clocks have been set to the 1950s. If you fancy a swim, jump in from the rocks or the diving board in Svaneke Harbour. If you prefer sandy beaches, visit Hullehavn, where you will also find the charming little café “South-East of Paradise”.

Svaneke – The creative centre of Bornholm
Svaneke is charming – but it is so much more than that. Svaneke is also the creative centre of Bornholm. Paintings. One of a kind glass works. Liquorish. Designer clothes. Chocolate. Ice cream. - A trip to the local smokehouse, with its fish delicacies, is a holiday experience that you must not miss. If you are travelling with children, they will love the cannons at the old redoubt by Svaneke Smokehouse. Another fun experience is Chicken Bingo, which is Bornholm's local version of the lottery. It sounds a bit strange, but it creates lots of laughs when you let 3 chickens loose on a big bingo field where you have to bet on which number field the chickens will put the next "blob" on. As skilled announcers talk about the progress, the audience loudly comments on the progress - and some think it's good to have bad tracks in this game. The acknowledged danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende has named the Chicken Bingo in Svaneke as Denmark's third best holiday activity. You have to experience it!
Be careful
Svaneke has been known to be highly addictive – which could be the reason behind the fact that Svaneke has some of the highest real estate prices on Bornholm. Not just the islanders relocate to the town; many tourists have forgotten all about their return ticket to “Denmark”, following their holiday to Svaneke. So be careful…
