Age limit
Please be aware that Pension Koch has an age limit, meaning that all guests must be 14 years of age or above.
Arrival days
As a rule, there are no set days for arrival or departure. As such, you are able to plan your holiday completely according to your own wishes – and you can choose to travel on the days when the ferry is cheapest. Usually, the ferry is cheapest on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
Bus
If you wish to take to bus to Pension Koch, the bus stop is approximately 200 meters away from the Pension Koch. The schedule for all bus routes on Bornholm can be found here: bat.dk.
Bicycle hire
If you want to rent bikes, we refer you to Gudhjem Holiday Park, Lille Jernkaasvej 1, 3760 Gudhjem (300 m. From Pension Koch) - just remember to order the bikes no later than the day before. Prices per. bicycle is:

Duvets and bed linen
There are duvets and pillows in the apartment. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only thing you must bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package, consisting of sheets, pillow and duvet covers as well as a large and a small towel. If you wish to rent a linen package, you can add it to your reservation when booking your stay.
Disability access
Some of the holiday apartments at Pension Koch can accommodate a wheelchair, but you should be aware that there are many steps in and around Pension Koch. If you are travelling with a wheelchair, we would advise you to stay at our holiday location Hotel Klintely in Sandkås.
Charging for electric cars
At the nearby Gudhjem Feriepark, it is possible to charge electric cars. Gudhjem Feriepark has to chargers for electric cars (type 2 chargers). You can purchase a 55kWh charging card in the reception.
Cleaning
We'll make sure to clean your holiday apartm on arrival and departure. Cleaning is always included in your rental price, and we will not send you any additional invoices for this after your holiday. On your departure, we simply ask you to ensure that the furniture is in its place, the dishes are cleaned/dishwasher is emptied, and any waste has been thrown out at the recycling station.
Grill
Grilling is not permitted on the apartment terrace or in the shared garden due to smoke nuisance and fire risk.
Grocery shopping
The supermarket Dagli'Brugsen is located just 150 meters from Pension Koch.
Internet
There is free WiFi in all apartments in Pension Koch. Slow or faulty internet connection will not be grounds for financial compensation.
Iron and ironing board
You can borrow an iron and an ironing board in the reception.
Keys
We’ll send you an email a few days before your arrival with information about how to get the key to your holiday home. It’s a simple process – and no problem at all if you arrive late in the evening.

There is an excellent selection of restaurants in Gudhjem. The nearest restaurant is located just 200 meters from Pension Koch.
Dishtowel, toilet paper, etc.
Upon your arrival, you will find a dishtowel, dishcloth, and a start-up inventory of toilet paper and kitchen towels, in your holiday apartment. Should you require extra, we ask that you bring, or purchase, this yourself.

Gudhjem er en idyllisk by med flotte huse
Gudhjem is, despite its modest size, one of the most famous towns on Bornholm – and probably one of the most charming towns in Denmark. The many small well kept houses, built in levels up the steep cliff, provides Gudhjem with a special atmosphere. Already in the 1800s, artists flocked to the town to experience the magical Gudhjem light on the horizon. One of the most famous of these painters, Oluf Høst, has his own museum in the town. When you visit the charming museum, you can “see the light”, and have a very special art experience. Further down the coast, more exciting art experiences await at Bornholm’s Art Museum, located by the famous “Helligdomsklipper”.
Like a time machine
The harbour is the centre of Gudhjem. There is a hum of life around the little cafes. Take the handsome ship Ertholm, to the small island of Christiansø, located east of Bornholm. From the 1600s, Christiansø functioned as a naval base for Denmark in the Baltic Sea. In the 1800s, it was home to a small fleet of canon ships, performing acts pf piracy on English and Swedish ships in the Baltic Sea, by order of the Danish King. For this reason, the English fleet attacked Christiansø on several occasions, but the island never surrendered, and remains Danish to this day. You can still see the canons on Christiansø, and a visit to the island is like going in a time machine, taking you 200 years back in time.
Back on the harbour in Gudhjem, you can take a walk along the sea to the neighbouring fishing village of Melsted, where there is a lovely sandy beach, and the interesting working agricultural museum Melstedgård. Here, you can experience life as it was in the 1950s. You can also visit “Gaarden”, the food embassy of Bornholm.

Walk along the coastal path
Along the coast, you will find the old coastal path, offering many beautiful viewpoints – for example Salene Bay. Take a seat on a warm rock. Look across the sea. Enjoy your holiday, while the ships slowly glide past in the horizon. Salene Bay is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on Bornholm. This was not the case 1,000 years ago; legend has it that the Danish Viking King, Harald Bluetooth, fought a large battle against his son, Sweyn Forkbeard, right there in the bay. Harald Bluetooth was hit in his backside by a poisoned arrow, and had to flee with his fleet to the German coast of the Baltic.
Eat “Sol over Gudhjem” (Sun above Gudhjem)
When you return to the present, you might be in the mood for a trip to Gudhjem Smokehouse on the harbour, where you can look forward to many delicious fish dishes, for example one of the island’s specialties “Sol over Gudhjem”. Smoked herring, chives, radish, and raw egg yolk on rye bread.
