Panoramic views and magical light in Gudhjem
Gudhjem has attracted people for thousands of years. The rocks, the sea and the special light create an almost magical atmosphere in this small town, which is miraculously built down over a cliff. Since the beginning of the 1900s, many painters have come to Gudhjem to "capture" the special atmosphere of the town. One of them, Oluf Høst, has got his own museum - visit the small cozy museum and see the beautiful paintings that will put a smile on your face.
Along the coast runs the old rescue path. Experience stunning panoramic views of the sea. Continue to Helligdomsklipperne ("The Sanctuary Cliffs"), which takes its name from one of Bornholm's holy springs. The cliffs tower impressively towards the sea and show the way to Bornholm's Art Museum. The holy spring is still inside the Art Museum, where it runs through the museum via a narrow crack in the floor. A strange mix of past and present.

On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to leave the apartment no later than 10:00.
Arrival days
There are no fixed changeover days in Gudhjem Søpark, so you are generally free to choose your arrival and departure days. Stays have a minimum stay of 3 nights. This gives you the opportunity to plan your holiday entirely as you wish, and you can also choose to travel on the cheapest ferry days, which are typically Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Accessibility
Wheelchairs can be used in apartments on the ground floor. Please inform us when booking if any of you use a wheelchair, so we can assign you to the most suitable apartment.
Allergy-friendly holiday apartments
All apartments are non-smoking. If you are allergic to pets, please inform us when making your booking, and we will make sure to reserve a pet-free apartment for you. Any allergies to down are not a problem either, as our duvets and pillows do not contain down.

Bike rental
You can rent bicycles at the reception in Gudhjem Feriepark, which is located 50 meters from Gudhjem Søpark - just remember to book them no later than the day before.
Charging station for electric cars
You can charge your car at Gudhjem Holiday Park, Jernkaasvej 1, which has two charging stations (type 2). You can buy charging cards with 55 kWh at the reception at Gudhjem Feriepark.
Cleaning
A holiday must be a holiday! That is why we make sure to clean your apartment on arrival/departure - so you are always sure that the apartment is properly cleaned on your arrival, and you are free from the work of cleaning yourself before your departure. Cleaning is always included in your rental price. You therefore do not have to pay extra for the cleaning. On your departure, we therefore simply ask you to ensure that the furniture is in its place, the kitchenware is washed up, and any waste is handed over to the area's environmental station.
Duvets & bed linen
There are duvets and pillows in the apartment. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only things that you need to bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package consisting of sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers, as well as a large and a small towel.If you wish to rent a linen package, you can add it to your reservation when you book your stay.

You can shop for groceries in Brugsen in Gudhjem, 200 meters from Gudhjem Søpark.
Grill
We cannot guarantee that your holiday apartment has a barbecue, as the apartments are privately owned and the owners decide whether a barbecue is available. If there is a barbecue, you must remember to clean it after use. Barbecuing is allowed on stone or grass areas near the apartment, but for fire safety reasons, not on wooden terraces. Always supervise the barbecue and be considerate of other guests.
Internet connection
There is a wireless internet connection in the apartments at Gudhjem Søpark. Transmission power may vary depending on the number of concurrent users. If you need to use the internet connection for work, we therefore recommend that you bring your own mobile broadband. If the network does not function optimally, this does not provide a basis for financial compensation.
Keys
We’ll send you a separate email a few days before your arrival with information about how to get the key to your holiday apartment. It’s a simple process – and no problem at all if you arrive late in the evening.
Kitchen appliances
All apartments have well-equipped kitchens - including dishwasher, utensils and tableware for 6, so you don't need to bring any of your own.
Parking
The holiday park has two parking areas, where you can park for free. The apartments are located 10-150 meters from the parking area, depending on which holiday apartment you live in - and which parking space you choose.
Payment terms
We kindly ask you to pay a deposit of 25% of the total price of your stay when booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 45 days before your arrival. If you book less than 45 days before your arrival, we kindly ask you to pay the full amount when booking.
Pets
Pets are allowed in selected holiday apartments. If you are bringing a dog or a cat, please add this when booking your stay. Please note that there is an additional cleaning fee when bringing a dog or a cat. Also remember that the Swedish customs regulations must be met when travelling with pets to Bornholm via Sweden. Tea towels, toilet paper and more
On your arrival, there is a tea towel, dishcloth and a start-up stock of toilet paper in your holiday home. If you need additional, you must make sure to bring/buy this yourself.

Despite its modest size, Gudhjem is one of Bornholm's most famous towns - and probably also one of the most charming. The many small, well-maintained houses, which are built in levels down the steep cliff slope, give Gudhjem a very special atmosphere.
For many years, painters have visited the city to experience the special "Gudhjem light" over the horizon. One of the most famous painters, Oluf Høst, has his own museum in the city - here you have good opportunities to see the "light" and get an art experience out of the ordinary.
Great atmosphere at the harbor
The harbour is the centre of Gudhjem. Here it is buzzing with life in the small cafes. There are daily departures to Ertholmene with the exciting fortress islands Christiansø and Frederiksø east of Bornholm. After the English had stolen almost the entire Danish fleet in 1807, Ertholmene was converted into a "pirate harbour", where small Danish gunboats engaged in privateer warfare against ships belonging to England and their ally Sweden. The English could of course not accept this and attacked Ertholmene several times with heavy bombardments. But the islands held their ground and therefore remained Danish. The pirates are gone, but the cannons and buildings stand as they did then. A trip to Ertholmene is like a trip in a time machine, where you are put 200 years back in time.
From Gudhjem, the proud ship Thor also sails down the coast to the beautiful rock formations "Helligdomsklipperne", where Bornholm's Art Museum is also located. While Thor sails back to Gudhjem, you have the opportunity to visit the Art Museum with its impressive collection of Bornholm art and take a later departure back to Gudhjem.

Cycling
Bornholm has a well-functioning network of cycle paths. 100 meters from Gudhjem Søpark you will find the first bike path. The paths lead you along the small roads, where cars are the exception, and beautiful nature experiences are the main rule.
Rolling cornfields
Try driving inland on a summer's day and discover the rolling yellow cornfields. The trip goes uphill - but you benefit from that when you head home. Here you can almost put the bike in neutral while slowly rolling in the view of the sea and Gudhjem town.
Østerlars Round Church
On the trip inland, you can visit Bornholm's largest round church - Østerlars Round Church (5.6 km. from Gudhjem Søpark), which was built in the 1100s. Diagonally opposite the round church, time is a little further ahead. Here you will find Bornholm's Medieval Centre, which is a vibrant town where you can smell, feel and feel the life of that time.

Eldorado for running and cycling
Bornholm is an eldorado for cycling and running enthusiasts. The cycling terrain at Gudhjem offers a lot of fun hills, and it is also here that some of the island's many bike races are held.
In a very small area, you will find running routes in everything from hilly forest terrain to long flat stretches of sand. Throughout the year, many exercise races are organized, where Etape Bornholm is probably the most well-known. Here, a marathon is run over 5 running days, where routes are included in almost every conceivable terrain - such as hill, forest and sand running. The race attracts participants from all over the world, and the number of participants is increasing from year to year.
The quick city tour in Gudhjem (about 3 km)
From Gudhjem Søpark, you run in the direction of Gudhjem. Down through Brøddegade (one of Denmark's steepest streets) to the harbour. Follow the coast towards Nørresand (Gudhjem's harbour no. 2). Turn left onto Løkkegade and follow the street until Brøddegade. Here it goes a little uphill to Restaurant Brøddan, where you turn left onto Lillevang. Follow the road towards Melsted and turn right towards Gudhjem Søpark. A nice little trip where you run exclusively on asphalt.
The Salener route (approx. 6 km)
A varied trip with great views and scenic surroundings. From Gudhjem Søpark, you run in the direction of Helligdomsklipperne and Bornholm's Art Museum. About 3 kilometers ahead, follow the road to the right down towards the water. Follow the coastal path back to Gudhjem Søpark. A nice trip in hilly terrain.
The ultimate (about 12 km)
On the trip, you run to Bornholm's Art Museum and the Sanctuary Cliffs along the road. The sea is on the right side and together with the beautiful rocky coast, it is a perfect setting for a longer run. At Bornholm's Art Museum, turn right towards the coastal path back to Gudhjem, which is considered by many to be one of Denmark's most beautiful coastal areas. The terrain is hilly, but the nature experiences are great on this running route!

After the visit to the Art Museum, you can go back with Thor to Gudhjem, or you can choose to walk back to Gudhjem along the beautiful coastal path. The trip is about 6 kilometers. It's hard to say whether the walk or the boat trip is the most beautiful - both will give you many great holiday memories!

Just 500 meters from Gudhjem Søpark you will find Gudhjem Museum. The museum offers an interesting collection of objects from the area around Gudhjem.
If you walk a little further down the road, you will be greeted by the idyllic Melstedgård, which is a living agricultural museum where time has stood still in the 1950s. The museum's work and animal husbandry charmingly show what everyday life was like in the countryside in the 1950s. Melstedgård is a fun and different museum that both children and adults will love.
You should also look forward to Bornholm's Food Culture House, "Gården", which is next door to Melstedgård. The farm is the Bornholm food ambassador, where lots of Bornholm delicacies await you.

If you are up for a beautiful hike along the coast, walk the approximately 6 kilometers of Gudhjem Søpark to Bornholm's Art Museum. With its beautiful location at the Sanctuary Cliffs and an impressive collection of Bornholm art, Bornholm's Art Museum has become an attraction that attracts more and more visitors.

Back in Gudhjem, it may be time for a relaxing moment at a café by the harbor before moving on to the Oluf Høst Museum. Since the 1800s, Gudhjem has attracted many artists, one of the most famous of whom is Oluf Høst. Oluf Høst's home has today been converted into a museum with an impressive collection of his beautiful paintings. Remember to enjoy the beautiful garden that belongs to the museum. With its crooked, steep and small streets, a walking tour of the city is something very special. Look at the many beautiful houses - perhaps take a rest at a café by the harbor and enjoy the special atmosphere.

Both south and north of Gudhjem runs the old coastal rescue path. The walk is a bit hilly in places, and you have to remember good footwear - but it is worth all the effort.
