Arrival
You will be able to check in to your holiday apartment from 15:00 on the arrival day. Read more under "Keys" if you arrive late at night..
Departure
On the day of departure, we ask that you leave the holiday apartment no later than 10:00.
Arrival days
There are no fixed changeover days for Købmandsgården, so you can freely choose your arrival and departure days. In some periods there is a minimum stay of 7 nights, while in other periods it is only 3 nights. This gives you great flexibility to plan your holiday, and you can choose the cheapest ferry days, which are typically Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Accessibility
Købmandsgården is not wheelchair accessible due to stairs leading up to the apartment. Please contact us at +45 56 95 85 66 for advice and guidance if you need a holiday home where it is possible to bring a wheelchair.
Baby package
You can rent a baby package consisting of: High chair and crib. If you wish to rent a baby package, you can add it to your reservation when booking your stay.
Cleaning
A holiday must be a holiday! That is why we make sure to clean your apartment on arrival/departure - so you are always sure that the apartment is properly cleaned on your arrival, and you are free from the work of cleaning yourself before your departure. When you order through us, cleaning is always included in your rental price. You therefore do not have to pay extra for the cleaning. On your departure, we therefore simply ask you to ensure that the furniture is in its place, the kitchenware is washed up, and any waste is handed over to the area's environmental station.
Duvets and pillows
There are duvets and pillows in the apartment. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only thing you must bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package, consisting of sheets, pillow and duvet covers as well as a large and a small towel. If you wish to rent a linen package, you can add it to your reservation when booking your stay.
Electricity and water consumption
Electricity and water consumption are always included in your rental price, so we will not send you any additional invoice after your holiday.
Groceries
You can shop for groceries at SPAR, which is located right next to Købmandsgården. You can also shop at Brugsen, about 500 meters from the apartment.
Internet
There is free wireless internet in the apartment. Transmission strength may vary. If you need to use the internet connection for work-related matters, we therefore recommend that you bring your own mobile broadband. If the network does not function optimally, this does not provide a basis for financial compensation. You will find the code for the internet in your apartment.
Keys
We’ll send you a separate email a few days before your arrival with information about how to get the key to your holiday apartment. It’s a simple process – and no problem at all if you arrive late in the evening.
Kitchen appliances
The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen - including table ware and utensils. You therefore do not need to bring any of your own.
Parking
Købmandsgården has its own parking lot, where you can park for free.
Pets
Pets are allowed in Købmandsgården. If you are bringing a dog or a cat, please add this when booking your stay. Please note that there is an additional cleaning fee when bringing a dog or a cat. Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in the apartment.
Tea towels, toilet paper and more
Upon your arrival, there is a tea towel, dish cloth and a starting supply of toilet paper in the holiday apartment. If you need more, you must bring/purchase this yourself.

Købmandsgården (The Merchant’s House) is located in the heart of Gudhjem – one of Bornholm’s most famous and charming towns. The small houses climbing down the cliffside toward the sea give the town a very special atmosphere. Already in the 19th century, artists flocked here to experience the famous “Gudhjem light.” At the Oluf Høst Museum, you can see the light captured in atmospheric paintings, while Bornholm Art Museum and the dramatic Helligdomsklipper cliffs are just a short trip further down the coast.
Boat Trips and Harbor Life
The harbor buzzes with life, cafes, smokehouses, and shops. From here, you can take a boat to Christiansø and explore the small fortress islands where history is still alive. You can also choose a boat trip with the ship Thor, which shows Bornholm’s rocky coastline from the sea. Or simply relax at the harbor with an ice cream and enjoy the atmosphere.
Melsted, the Coastal Path, and Local Specialties
From Gudhjem, you can take a short walk to Melsted, where a child-friendly beach and the lively Melstedgård Museum await. Here you can experience farm life in the 1950s and visit Bornholm’s Food Culture House “Gaarden,” offering tastings from local producers. If you follow the coastal rescue path further to Salene Bay, you’ll be rewarded with some of Bornholm’s most beautiful views. Back in Gudhjem, you can end the day at Gudhjem Smokehouse with the classic dish “Sol over Gudhjem.”
